[00:01:29] Speaker A: Good night and welcome to Guardian Radio 96.9 FM. I am your host, Valentino Braun, aka Scoocci or Scrooge, governor or MP, host of the show Inside Inner City Dutto Mares. Every Friday at 6:30 to 8pm except holidays. Telephone numbers tonight are 323-623-23254316 and 325-4259. And I want to thanks everyone who listens and I want to thank Guardian Radio and the staff that gave me the opportunity to voice my opinion to those who are in power, but also to the listeners because I think that we are all on the same page. I think that we have all. We have the same discussion, we have the same problems. And I think together, you know, we can really make a difference in the country on how we conduct ourselves and have a conversation that really matters. So it's always a pleasure for you guys to be waiting on me on a Friday. I know you could be in the bars, which some of you are doing other stuff, but I know a lot of you tune into this particular time because, you know, many people wouldn't take the time in the evening to really listen to a show. You know, most shows in a day are very successful and this show that we have in the evening going in tonight has been very successful and beneficial to the country. Like, again, we tackle issues that are important to the country. The things that are in the dark, we bring to light. And we are not judgmental. We just want the problems to be identified and we want the problems to be worked on. Some things can be worked on immediately. But we have to continue to make progress on that program. Whatever infrastructure we are working on that the Bahamas needs, what the Bahamian people needs, we should be able as a government and as private citizen and citizen himself to make sure that is fulfilled. When we take a look at what's going on in our country with the hospital, when we look at what's going on with, excuse me, where is it? Let me look at our minimum wage, when we look at ppl, when we look at our police force, when we look at our. When we look at our education system, you know, which they was able to make an agreement, yet still it's not being finalized by the President. Ms. Belinda Wilson. I think they're in discussion now about renegotiation and signing the contract that they did agree on. Hopefully that should be signed within a matter of days. But again, we are in a turmoil, means that the infrastructure that builds the country has not been properly maintained. And now the chicken has come on the roast. And you know, it's sad for us as a country. You know, we talk about $700 million that the opposition was speaking on, asking [00:04:43] Speaker C: the government [00:04:45] Speaker A: where the money was spent. The government gave their explanation, said monies were spent on projects that the Prime Minister discussed a few days ago on national TV to give reference to the expenditure. You know, now we're looking at, [00:05:05] Speaker C: Let [00:05:05] Speaker A: me see, where is it? Are we looking to borrow 331 million [00:05:15] Speaker C: for [00:05:17] Speaker A: I think development of the Grand B PC in Freeport? And we look at it as a lot of money. That's about a billion. That's for the billion plus would be looking to. There's 331 million, that's a billion plus. So there's a lot of funds borrowed, but at the end of the day, you know, be suffering when it comes to our healthcare. And I just wanted to mention that real quick, you know, besides that, [00:06:02] Speaker C: I [00:06:02] Speaker A: know where to start from today, tell you the truth. But anyway, let me try to do my best because I just be bothered, you know, sometimes, you know, you keep on talking about the problems that we face in the country and every day we come to the assumption that after we do research, it comes to the same thing again. You know, I've been preaching this on the show for many years, telling and give an example of why the country, the way it is, when it comes to crime, when it comes to poverty, and the reason why we need to work on it step by step with a national priority, make it a national priority that we continue the programs regardless of who government comes in Power. We just stick to what is working, stick to the agenda and help improve the mindset of our citizens. And sometimes, you know, I get frustrated with the whole idea of just, you know, talking about it. But you know something, you keep at it. You keep at it because it comes right back around again. What you're saying, you would see it again being repeated in the country. And there's a time now that I think that we are paying interest to the problem. And it takes persons who are in position in government. They have to get the reports that identify the problem and how to address it. And we're gonna talk about that a little later on in the show. But I want to just give a shout out and a complaint to Monty. Mr. Monty, he owns Monte Beauty Supply. I don't know what location it is, but he's complaining about the roadworks going down. I think it's about the electrical work or the roadworks. I don't know if they were paying for the king or the king that is coming into town in a few days or so. But he's saying it's disrupting his business, means that he's losing clientele because there's no parking space there and he is not being compensated. So he's saying that if government is actually doing roadworks or repairing the road, it could be BPL probably taking up the road looking for a faulty transformer wire. So at the same time, you know, they didn't even talk to him, they didn't give notification to him. So he's asking a lot of questions on what can be done to help him. Not only that, there's a few other businesses around this establishment that's also being affected. So these discretion needs to be asked. And people who are taxpayers are asking these questions now because they're seeing that so much money is being spent, 700 million here, $331 million being borrowed. Many persons want to really, really say, hey, we paying high taxes and we should have the best quality service from all government agencies in the country, whether it's bpl, whereas water and sewerage, whereas whatever government establishment as Princess Margaret Hospital, whatever government department, the people who pay their taxes want the best service as possible. That's someone on the line. That's money. Okay, that's money. Oh, he can tell us more about it. So sometimes as a talk show host, he got recommended me, he's a listener for Mr. John Bo. You know, I'm an activist, but I'm also a talk show host and I like to see how we can have a Conversation, identify the problem and talk to the authorities and see how we can come to some resolution. Because if we want to better the country, we have to have a better communication between citizens and the government. Especially when major works is going on, when people are really, really struggling, they have a staff and they're trying to also keep their staff employed. You know, sometimes staff have to get sent home and because of that they don't get their regular pay. And sometimes, you know, the owners themselves know their staff works hard, has children, has problems, have bills as well, so they do not try to cut their check short. But as a business owner, sometimes it's very, it takes a lot out your pocket and sometimes it gets very frustrating. And many people sometimes would even fire their staff, you know, and you know, it's hard to fire people who, you know are good workers. So we have them on the line, then we're going to continue to show. Okay, so we have Money owns Money's beauty supply and go ahead Soc. Good night to you. [00:10:25] Speaker B: Yes, good evening, Mr. Schoolton. Thanks for giving me this opportunity. [00:10:29] Speaker A: Yes, sir. Yes. [00:10:29] Speaker B: To vent my frustration. [00:10:31] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Now, BPL has a line that runs from the Blue Hill power station through the grove and to Atlantis. [00:10:43] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:10:44] Speaker B: The cable blew in the ground. [00:10:47] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:10:48] Speaker B: When they opened it up, you could see that. Now my thing is, first of all I wanted. I. I'm asking myself, am I more important or Atlantis is more important? Well, I, I didn't come to a conclusion on it because I want Atlantis to make the money, but in the meantime, I may starve to death. But they came without saying. I mean, they said they're coming to work the next day. When they discovered where the vault was. Which was, which was. Which was about 30 states they start, they came and they were ill prepared. First of all, they had to borrow my current. [00:11:23] Speaker A: The borrow your current if they come into. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Because they needed to pump the water out the hole. [00:11:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:11:29] Speaker B: After digging. So they didn't have no generator. So they weren't prepared in, in the pumping of water. I know they know they're going down in the ground. [00:11:38] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:11:39] Speaker B: It literally took them four. Then one day they was waiting for the tractor. The tractor never showed up Sunday to cover the whole backup. It's like they don't plan anything. Whatever backup goes, nobody is set or scheduled to work. I understand the thing. They're going through all this over time. But you have to take into consideration people's business. I and they write in the front of my business. My business establishment dug a trench that is about 20ft long. And they just took the time when you come. When I come in the morning, all them on their phone waiting for somebody or for something. So they wait about an hour. First thing in the morning, one of the men came to me and he was talking to me and he said this job should have taken two days. And it literally took four days. I had to close my shop on the last day because I don't know how long they were going to be out there fooling around. Now, one East Indian gentleman off from Bermuda or Barbados, he came and spoke to me on the sad day of the digging. Now he asked me what would I want, about how much I would want for compensation. I gave him a figure. He said, okay, he would put it forth to his boss. Now I. Now he never got back to me. I don't know what he think I'm supposed to do. I just sit down and wait for them to play dollhouse with me and all that. But once he put it to them and if they don't answer him, he just don't get back to you. This is there. And then now that they're finished, a gentleman came to me and said they were coming to pave. He hasn't shown back up yet. And it's just murky in the front there. Yesterday morning they were out there about two or three of them in the truck and they were on their phone, but they waiting for the boss. When I look back on the camera and look at them, they were gone. So the place is still dug up. Now the next thing with this company and see what they're trying to do is say they're being. The wake is being subbed out. So nobody's being responsible. The g. The tar and the cement they dug up to get to what where they wanted to, they dumped it on another man's property right next to me. So when I told the fellows who was out here Tuesday, when we came back Tuesday, oh, he said he don't know who do that. Now it's only them who deal with electricity. Them and the people, they sub it out too. So I see. And I realize that now they're part of the problem of littering in the black belt areas. Cause I drove around today and I saw a couple of these lumps of tar where they dug up and they're on the side of the road. They don't come back to move them. [00:14:21] Speaker A: You're correct, sir. On Lewis Creek as well. [00:14:23] Speaker B: Yes. [00:14:23] Speaker A: If you look on Lewis Street. Yes, yes. [00:14:26] Speaker B: And what they're doing now with Me playing cat and mouse game. Because this one say he got to go to his supervisor. The next one, he spoke to his supervisor and nobody's getting back to you. And as a result, the money they saved the company at the end of their time here, that's how they get these big bonuses. Get all these things and they pack up and they're gone. And they leave us in a dump and nothing. Look, right or done, right. [00:14:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:52] Speaker B: We have to put pressure on these people. And they're on. They got foreigners, I hate to call them say this, but they got foreigners in these positions. They don't care if we stay in a mess. They, they don't tell the boys. Look, man, when you finish with this, make sure you leave the place the way you met it. Do not. They cut the new sidewalk we just went down about three weeks ago, you know. Cause they did the fellows, them out of contract and they did the sidewalk through here, that's wasted and they come right here and cut it back up. [00:15:23] Speaker A: That's a wasted expenditure. [00:15:25] Speaker B: Yeah, but I mean, you couldn't predict that the cable would blow. [00:15:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that's true, that's true, that's true. [00:15:29] Speaker B: But they needed more space to get to the cable. [00:15:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I understand. [00:15:32] Speaker B: Yes, but you left, you heaped the date about somebody else property and nobody's looking back. [00:15:39] Speaker A: Not only that, sir, sometimes when they're doing the tree trimming, when they come around these inner city communities and they cut the trees, they leave them right there. They don't send a truck. [00:15:46] Speaker B: They got the equipment to move it. [00:15:47] Speaker A: Honestly speaking, that's it saying we coming hard on them. But you know, a part of a company is that when, you know, you have these problems, you know that, you know you're going to dig up, you're supposed to attempt to come and remove the debris and the garbage, etcetera, to get from the vicinity. That's common sense, you know. [00:16:04] Speaker B: Yeah. And all I realized today when I drove records, I saw a couple of these things, I said, it ain't all the people nasty, you know, it's them. Yeah. Some of this fault lies with them. If you ride around in the grove and see where they've done work, you'll see the Todd right there. [00:16:19] Speaker A: Yeah, it's true, it's true. [00:16:20] Speaker B: They don't come back. [00:16:21] Speaker A: Yes. And it's. It needs to be. [00:16:24] Speaker B: And now I'm playing cat and mouse with the supervisors. [00:16:28] Speaker C: Okay. [00:16:28] Speaker B: They were supposed to get back to the. One was supposed to get back to me yesterday and one was supposed to get back to me about two days ago. So they all lying to me now. [00:16:38] Speaker A: Better community. [00:16:38] Speaker B: And they got. I see. They got us for food because they know plenty of us don't care. But I am going to voice my opinion until I think this thing is done right and they solve this problem. [00:16:49] Speaker A: Yeah, he's a taxpayer. [00:16:52] Speaker B: They now playing cat and mouse with us. And then they walk away with all our money and leave us in a dump. [00:16:57] Speaker A: Okay. [00:16:59] Speaker B: So these people who BPL contracted, they need to sit them down and tell them all these people ain't crazy in the grove. Some of us got a little decency. And as a, as a employment, as a business owner unemployer in this community. I intend to do my part to keep it clean. [00:17:17] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:17:18] Speaker B: And I'm not going to sit by and let them do this to me. Because this ain't the end of the day. They're going to hear from me some more on the rest of these shows. [00:17:25] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:17:26] Speaker B: But it is, it's not right. [00:17:27] Speaker A: Very situated. [00:17:28] Speaker B: Like I say, I, I. The older you get now excludes. And the older you get, the more foolishness do you think. Yes, if you live long. [00:17:36] Speaker A: You know where you situated in the Grove. [00:17:38] Speaker B: Yes, Off Market Street. But you know where Jones Drake used to be? [00:17:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Jones Drake. Yes. [00:17:42] Speaker B: Yeah. I called you yesterday to come pick you up so you could see why [00:17:46] Speaker A: you talk to me mod. We might have ended up in the bar. After you finish. [00:17:52] Speaker B: I wanted you to see. So when you talk about this situation. [00:17:55] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:17:55] Speaker B: You will be able to say more about it, you see? [00:17:58] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:17:58] Speaker B: So we understand. I can still come get you tomorrow if you're not busy. Okay, sir. [00:18:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:02] Speaker B: But this is not finished until they finish their job. [00:18:05] Speaker A: Yes, sir. Thank you very much. [00:18:06] Speaker B: And we shouldn't let them get away with this. This is our country and it's come up like Spocky said. If we don't stand up for it, what they going to do? They can like what Pinland said. If we don't fight and do speak up, they going to do us in. That's so they don't care. One of them lives somewhere in Barbados or Bermuda. You think he care about how we look here? [00:18:24] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:18:26] Speaker B: So I want justice. I looking for justice. When they look like now, they hoping I just let it fly or don't say anything for them to compensate me. I lost money for four days straight. [00:18:36] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:18:37] Speaker B: I had to go to my savings the other day to pay my vat and now that knocked me out because I can't go get my back Operation I supposed to be getting. They don't think we have anything to do important. They think we live this easy life and everybody just sitting down and having a good time. Some people are doing serious things. [00:18:57] Speaker A: Yes sir. [00:18:58] Speaker B: And they cause problems when they do these kind of things. [00:19:00] Speaker A: Thank you. Thank you very much for calling it express yourself. But you a customer to bpl. You also employ the national insurance and you contributed to the country at large. So I just like to say you have a right to file your complaint. I think that coordination is most important in the country. I think that a company that comes in and is going to do work around people establishment and their community should at least. I shall at least coordinate with those who are of. [00:19:28] Speaker B: Let me say this before I go. If it's somebody out there who can help me and die because me and direct me straight to the source. I would like for them to contact me. Because these people know how to play games. [00:19:39] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:19:40] Speaker B: Nobody know none. Nobody know who. Nobody. That's how they play these games because you know, to wear you out. [00:19:45] Speaker A: Thank you very much. [00:19:46] Speaker B: And we can't let them get away with this. Okay, thank you. [00:19:49] Speaker A: Thank you very much. That's Monty. Monty Beauty supply is right there on Market Street. I remember Joe. Joe started off as Joe's Drake. Right up on top of the hill by one family practice. Before he get to one family practice. He became successful. He passed away a few years ago. But you know, Monty's Beauty Supply is right across from that business establishment of the lake George Drake. So again, you know, we talk about Sparky. Sparky went on with a buying man Sparky. You know, you enter the bank, you know, we always have this discussion about the country. You know, I'm a person who concerned about the hospital because see I grew up in. I live in that community, okay. All my life I've been to and fro and see thousands of people who being in and out of hospital who are pass away. Most recently a few years ago, my grammy and ever since, you know, I ran in that particular accident emergency and I saw my grandmother on the Ghani. She was admitted for a few days and then to see how many other people's grandmother and mothers was in there. And all of them was just looking up in the light. And I look around and I saw what the problem was. The noise Stimul overworked. We have a lot of people with chronically ill diseases in the country. You know, so when I look at that and I say wow. But my grandmother and other people, grandmothers and mothers was There looking up at the light, you know, coal. And they didn't have no room, no bed, you know, had to be in the middle on the side of the hallway with a little curtain pull over them. Some of them had no curtain pull over them, you know, all my skin crawling because, you know, I look at it, I say, wow, one day that could be me. Because one day you would get old, you know, if God would allow it. And then you get fragile and if you didn't take care of your body means that, you know, there are people in the world who die of natural causes. You know, they don't even get sick. They just for some particular reason, their body just shut down. Then you have some people who don't take care of their body. They have diabetes, they have cancer, they have high blood pressure, they have obesity, you know, they have blood problems, but they need blood work. So you have a lot of people out there with chronic ill diseases and if they not eating right and taking herbal with pharmaceutical. But I prefer herbal medicine because it's more better for the human consumption and you could take like a tea and really deal with your illness over the period of time if you're dedicated, you know, why we, you know, so like I say, you know, I say, you know, one day it could be me. But for people who chronically ill disease, who have chronically ill diseases, like those diseases I talked about, you know, that can be cured. But if they don't have the right treatment or they don't have the right information, and then when you look at the staff at the Princess Margaret Hospital, they're overworked and some, you know, ain't really, don't let me say it like that, are not really interested to work. Probably, you know, they're stressed out about the low pay, stressed out about how many patients come to the hospital. Now bear in mind now the hospital is completely run down. It's way past its lifespan, far as I can say. I've always preached on this show that we need at least 3, 4 hospital based on the population of this country. I feel that you have a growing population, for example. That's why I don't understand how our MPs and our prime ministers or persons who run it for running for office, or any candidate running for office, how they don't analyze what is really needed for the country. I'm a guy from the streets and I can tell you what this country needs. And I've been sitting on the show for many, many years and everything I've talked about has come true. On this show, okay, I always said that we need a tree hospital based on the population. If you have a growing population of people and you have a growing population of chronically ill diseases based on the lifestyle of the nation, when the World Health Organization state not, you know, whatever you put in your body is what you become. So if you put unhealthy food in your body, you would have chronically ill diseases. Sugar, you know, we consume a lot of sugar, sodas, you know, fried food, a lot of bad greases, you know, pork, you know, things that are not naturally good for the body. I say you can't eat this stuff. But there are consequences for putting certain things in the human body, okay? And all of that. So bear in mind, we have a growing population, we eating unhealthy the hospital patients. New subdivisions are being built, babies are born in every day, different nationalities coming in the country, they're having children. And if you're not eating healthy and everyone getting admitted to the hospital at one particular time every day, you can imagine you always see the hospital empty. Let me ask you all the question. Have you all ever seen the hospital empty? [00:24:47] Speaker B: Hmm. [00:24:49] Speaker A: That's because how much people have chronically ill diseases in the country who aren't going for operation or ain't going for. Man, listen, I going to the eye doctor, the air doctor, going to have baby and some stuff. And with a small staff that we have underpaid. And then you have thousands of people who have chronically ill diseases bombarding hospital when our government itself have not [00:25:22] Speaker B: have [00:25:22] Speaker A: the capability to understand that we have to get ahead of the problem, meaning that we have to start teaching our nation to eat healthy. [00:25:33] Speaker C: Okay? [00:25:34] Speaker A: Like Dr. Dowell state, he started a program which I don't understand, he's supposed to be doing from day one that he is putting together task force to monitor the foods, processed foods that come in the country and comes in the country because a lot of processed food has on the label gives you cancer. So that is the beginning. Because we have food that is getting poor in the country and our children consuming them and is unhealthy. Then we are going to have a lot of people with high blood pressure, cancer, obesity and whatever, you name it, okay? In the country. So we're going to keep on having a buildup of everything. And then we are talking to ourselves saying that if we as behemoth, you know, we want everything behemoth, we get behemoth nurses in the hospital. How did it work for us? I'm not against the nurses in the hospital. I Think they do a fantastic job. Some of them might not be polite, some of them might not be professional. But there's a way you can work around that. That's why you had a thing called the Caribbean. You can look around the world, get the best of nurses and doctors and assistants and they could come down here and they could assist us tremendously in the hospital. But we don't want the Filipinos here, we don't want the Cuban doctors here, we don't want the Guyanese doctors here because we feel threaten as a nation. But let me tell you something. When you are foreign national from different professions come in your country who are professional in their country and they come in their country, why are nurses relaxing and fixing their nails and I don't get offended nurses, you know, these individuals who come here as foreign nationals, they come in to do a job and they're going to do it professionally and they're going to do and pick up the slack. What our nurses and doctors don't do. You know, people won't be neglected in the hospital. But at the same time we need three at hospital built. I also, we need a children hospital. We need to be built that just deal with children. I feel that a hospital for all people should be built, you know, that's how I feel. You know, then you should have a hospital bill where you could go get your eye to take away the pressure from the main hospital. Let's build a hospital somewhere, I don't know that could just deal with eye or eye and air. Them two combined together. Just a hospital for eye and air or whatever it is that something else. You could be your finger on all that could be able to treat particular things to take the pressure off the hospital so that we don't have a volume of people going to the hospital confusing the nurses and doctors. That's too much people. And like I said, our governments have failed us. And Sparky went over the bank and Sparky know you're resting in peace now, but you're going out with a bank. But you made some good, good comments that we all were talking about. That's why always in this country or for us in this country, that's how I feel about it. But at the same time we need to get ahead of the problem by also teaching our kids about healthy living. We talk about balmsea. I think it's a wonderful idea. I think that we invested a couple hundred millions in it, if I'm correct. But yet still, you know, it's a good initiative. It has no Limitations. But are we really, really benefiting from Barmsy? Because we have a problem where the food that we eaten, why not use with the sheep, the goat and whatever those stuff and breed them in the hundreds of thousands in the cows and whatever, the fruits and vegetables, the watermelons, the pineapple, you know, all the fruits and vegetables that are healthy for the human body that could help us eat better. Why, why, why we are not making this priority? Here's the question that needs to be asked. But anyway, enough of that. I want to start the show now. I want to play the first clip and then we could go from there. [00:29:49] Speaker B: Children bear the burdens of their parents. And so you have children going to school, feeling the pressures of financial instability in the home and therefore they would not be able to learn. Well, they get into complications at school. They have other issues that are going on that prevents them from learning. And I think once we lose our children, we lose a nation. And so emphasis must be put on children, the children's poverty. We must pay full attention to them and to see how we can eradicate poverty from that level. So if you are unemployed, underemployed, looking for a better job, receiving social services benefits, or simply you just want to support social services, this expo is for you. We want the Bahamian people to know that we are recognizing the day and that is good. But it is time for us to take serious action. Ending systemic poverty requires personal responsibility and individual involvement. So if you want to break the cycle, we must take advantage of the various opportunities that are offered. [00:31:13] Speaker A: Yes, that's Senator Barbara Cartwright. I personally know Barbara Cartwright. She's a standout female. You know, I don't discredit her, but the statistics that she just gave to you, right, to the Bamin people has been a statistic that has been around for a long time. The problem has never ceased to exist. The problem has always there, never been away. The fact of the matter is that she's speaking on that because that she got all information as part of social service minister responsible. So what she's getting information from the guidance counsels, from all the schools, from all the reports that she's getting from parents and studies that are being done. So they come to the assumption now that kids who don't do well in school is those who come from a broken home, those don't have light, those don't have. Those who have light, those probably don't have running water, those probably don't have lunch to carry to school, probably their shoes, boys, they don't have no current. So they can't iron their pants or shirts or other kids are teasing them. You know, and this is the kind of things that I speak on what our country is facing. And when we talk about crime, we're never going to be able to deal with crime because this, Rachel, points to the beginning of crime. You know, that's why senator is making the point that we have to focus on them. I've always said that if you're going to go in these communities, if you're going to invest in kids, we need to get kids in after school programs, in training centers. But you don't expect kids to come to a training center, right? Or come to the church or come to any event. At the end of the day their stomach is bubbling, right? Like I say, they are uncomfortable home. We don't know if they're getting abused because if you look at the statistics as well as minister for Social service, you would see their statistics show you that there's also an increase in child abuse. So that comes with verbal abuse as well. So combining all that together, we are never going to be able to deal with the grind problem in this country. Never ever. We're going to have repeated occurrence of at least 100 plus murders every year because we seems we cannot get the picture. These statistics, I told you, have already been run me as a guy from the street, know what the problem is because I live in the inner city community all my life. That's why I'm an activist and that's why I use their ways and my platform. So wherever I go to speak, on any speaking engagement, my tone will never change because the problem remains the same until we fix it, until we make it a priority. And that's what I always said. If you want kids to really perform and learn in school, give the kids a sniping if they drank. Any program in the country, whether it's Boys Brigade, whether it's urban renewal, you know, I see urban renewal, don't get me wrong, I see them, you know, have kids in the marching band and stuff. Give them incentive for them coming there. You know, if they come in there and you could say, you know what I'm gonna give these kids? You know, they come there every week. We talking with the 700 million and the government borrowed 331 million, which is more important? So this would you do you say, okay, we're going to put this urban notice here. We have 100 kids to the center that we're dealing with in this one year. Okay, if these kids show up Every day we're going to give these kids at least 1, $300 every week with a coupon. And then we also going to follow them up home, you know, so as part of this initiative, we also going to go home to see how we can probably turn on the light or they may be problematic in school, or they were put out of school. So now we're giving them the sniping. They're getting training now, many courses of plumbing, electrical, anger management. Now, see, this stuff could work now because now they're getting the stuff that they need. And now they get people who support them, who they know care for them, coming to the school, checking up on them, whether it's a boy or girl, and being there for them. This is how we change this. If they ain't gonna do that, like Ms. Barbara Coakley, Senator Barbara Coakley is saying to her party, but to the nation, because she said that these kids cannot focus. They cannot focus people. And we're here talking $700 million that the opposition is asking, where has the money going? There are some good questions. Because if the money is not going to help kids, if the money is not going to build hospitals so that our loved ones, our grandmothers, our mothers, our sisters and brothers, don't get neglect, not because of neglect of the doctors or nurses, you know, it's because the hospital is run down, they're understaffed, underpaid. And we as Bahamians don't want foreign aid coming who are professionals. You know, we need foreigners in this country, in the fields to help us to take the pressure off our behemoth nurses and doctors. I don't care how you put it. We need professionals, time. Right now, we need those individuals in this country because they would treat you well, they would do their job diligently. And that means the nurses and doctors could take their time now, you know, and rest because they're overworked. You could imagine overworking nurses and doctors. Some of them will leave scalpeling you. That's why we have so much accident at the Princess Market Hospital. So much neglect at the Princess Market Hospital. You know, it's just too much. It's just too much for those individuals with that small staff to deal with the volume of people who come in and have chronically ill diseases that our governments who have allowed people to poison us by bringing a lot of processed food that aren't healthy for us and that with uneducated society, meaning you telling us these processed food and these bad food that we're eating is causing chronically ill diseases in the country. We ain't telling them that. I'm deodorant. Some of them, the Marxie part that females get at the store, you know, because I've been reading a lot on the stuff. The stuff get bond in European countries. They're talking about certain toothpaste, you know, I mean, we're all gonna die one day. But listen, it's how you die, you know. Like I said, there are people who die who are completely healthy and just die of natural causes without feeling pain or not. Some, I mean it might be pain to the end part, but they'd be walking strong and never in the hospital. And then one day they just end up there and that'd be the end of them. That's how it is sometimes. But they ain't suffer, you know, in bad, calm wolves, bad sores, you know, your people abandon you. I was watching and listening to the report came in. How much people have abandoned their loved ones in the old folks home. You know, woman says she owe $200,000. People only come there once and drop their parents off. These are things you better think about in life. I'm not perfect. You see me as a young man. I make mistakes and I'm still trying to correct it, you know, it's hard, you know, it's hard, you know, we are human, you know. I tell you no lie is hard, you know, because some decisions you just. You just can't just make up and say no. You know, it takes time, you know. And sometimes time is what you don't have. But it's just the way it is, you know. And I'm trying to correct myself, trying to be a better person. I still make mistakes. And anytime I say do something wrong, I talk to myself. I apologize to the person. I try not to do it no more. But sometimes, you know, you fall a little weak. But the thought is there and I want to get stronger at it, you know, to keep on correcting myself. And right now, if our country leaders know that what they're doing right now, not properly investing. They're investing in all kind of other infrastructure, but they're not investing in the real infrastructure that is needed for the country. We're going to play the next clip. I saw the video. It's a distressful video. I've seen many videos where individuals have complained about the slow service at the Princess Margaret Hospital and some extent to the Round Memorial Hospital. That video was forwarded to the PHA by myself. I'm sure they saw it. [00:40:03] Speaker B: I indicated that it Needs to be investigated. [00:40:06] Speaker A: And we should have a report as it relates to that. The report, there was another video and I saw where the PHA responded. But claims of this nature need to be fully investigated. We are supposed to provide a service that is adequate. Accident emergencies. I must be very transparent. The service of the accident emergency sometimes stretch beyond capacity. [00:40:31] Speaker B: And I've made it clear in the [00:40:34] Speaker A: public domain that we have outgrown much of the services at the Princess Margaret Hospital going as far back as 1999. I saw the video. You hear that Now I been here, I think over 10 years in Guardian Radio. And I've been saying how long we have outgrown the Princess Margaret Hospital. We have a qualified doctor who is an mp, former MP and probably still is the mb. I can't really, you know, but he is stating. And he worked at the Princess Market Hospital or the Rand Memorial Hospital, right? He has the information, he knows about the condition. But it takes Sparky and other poisons around. It takes Sparky as dead. It takes poisons like myself, who Ojah Abakin for all of us, you understand? Because one day your mother or your daddy getting up there. So we better advocate for it to be a better, better hospital. So that when it's our time, if your children abandon you, at least you can get treat good in the hospital where you pay your taxes, huh? Think about this. You think because you're young and beautiful and handsome, you can't fall ill. You could get in a car accident and be disabled, huh? Huh? So forget about politics. This is about everybody who live in this country, okay? The people who be let, they get millions of dollars. They could go away to United States or Canada or Cuba and get the best treatment. And guess what? They have a whole room as big as this room here. You know, some of our room, like our bedroom, they have all bedroom to themselves. Princess Margaret Hospital. You can't get that. You get one little piece right there, huh? And then you can hear all the pain from the next person next to you. Next to you, next to you. All the people crying, man, listen, more crying is bigger up to the place. Why I feel it's a spark, you know. But he did good. So it takes people like us. So Dr. Darwell, what has bothered me, you know? And let me be respectful. Let me be respectful as much as possible. He said that he passed it on to the proper authorities to look into the matter. Now, if Spocky wasn't a popular guy, right? And had a voice because many people liked him, even though Spocky Is good beside himself, you know, but, you know, that's his character, you know, but he makes some sense on a lot of matters, you know, and it would take that for a doctor. See, I don't think so. It's like Dr. Hubert Minnes, who was the former prime minister of the country. And he is just like Dr. Darwell. He was probably Minister of Health himself. And he ain't do much crap, man. Excuse my language. Let me say. Let me be as much respectful as possible in this instance. But yet still they talk about the problem like they never was in government and know that the hospital was overworked than. Excuse me, from 1999. If you listen to the interview just now, Dr. Dawell stated that we have outgrown and that the accident emergency staff is being overworked. Like I tell y', all, there's no way in the world we're going to be able to fix this right now. No time soon. As long as we have close to 100 murders, 47 car accidents, thousands of people, chronic airway diseases. Some people need to use like dialysis. Dialysis machine. Take them a couple months. Because a lot of people got to use it, huh? Never. So start eating healthy, people. Start taking care of your body. And I want to remind each and every one of you out there who are listening, you know, we are looking for God, we are looking for Christ. But let me tell you, your body that you have. See me, like I say, I'm trying to get it right with me. I've been drinking a lot lately. I'm trying my best to slow down as much as possible because I don't want my kidneys go or my liver go. Then I end up in the hospital. And then I put myself, what you say? Slow death. So I'm gonna take care of my body. Ladies, be careful what you put on your body. Some of the wigs got chemicals. Some of the makeup got chemicals that get you caught. Can be cancer causing illness. Some of the lipstick that you put on your face. Some of the bleaching cream that you put in the flake. Some of the bleaching cream that you put on your face. Ladies, listen, it take away the melanin from your skin that protects the sun rays, okay? And when you take away the melanin, you go in the sun and you don't have the melanin on your skin no more. You get the full rays of the sun, okay? And that gives you skin cancer, okay? Some of the. Excuse me. The maxi pad that ladies use. Read the labels as much as possible. And of course some herbal remedy to also go with it. [00:46:33] Speaker B: Okay? [00:46:33] Speaker A: A lot of stuff that we put on our bodies. Some of the pans, some of the shakes, we got to be very careful. Some of the frying pans, you know, we got to be very careful on how we take care of our body. Remember, your body is the temple of the Lord. The Lord dwells in your body. So keep a connection with God and he himself will keep you, keep you here from harm. You know, there's some people I know I've never been in a car accident. There are some people I know I've never. There are some people that have never been in a car accident driving all their life. You know why? Because they're blessed. There's some people who never been in police custody or never get pull over from police. And when I was asking these people like that and I lived in inner city and I didn't get pulled over a thousand times living in the city. Some people never got pulled over from police or even get questioned Living right in the country. Some people have never catch a car, our flat tire, okay? Because they are protected, you know. So take care of your body, people. You know, take care of your body, okay? But again, the Dr. Darwell, he's speaking on how the conditions he's looking in the matter with Sparky. Dr. Darwell, You very know that that hospital is incapable of dealing with the volume of behaving citizen that goes there on a daily basis cannot be sustained. That's why we get reports of how long you would get. Sir, Sparky was there like nine hours. If you go to oxen emergency right now and you have something serious happening to you or the cramp in your stomach, you could be there for hours because they just don't have the staff. And then in that you wonder sometimes when people get wrong injection or you'd see sometime on operation table, the doctor sticks you back up and when you look he get one of the scissors in you. You know why? Because the doctors were fatigued, the people around us fatigue. And that's what happened in our country. And we have those kind of things happening in our country today. And then, you know, the BME people would go after the nurses and doctors and stuff like that. But God said it goes a little something deeper than that, you know, and that's how serious it is and what we are facing in this country today. So I appreciate Dr. Darwell on his program where he has the food safety program comes in effect. I hope that be continuous and that we keep on we keep to monitor the food that is coming in our country and to make sure that we teach our kids healthy living. Fruits, vegetables, what type of meat they should be consuming in their body. We ain't telling, we ain't telling nobody what you should not eat, but we telling them that if you eat it, it gives you certain things. Like if you eat the pig, it shows you what it would do to you. [00:49:43] Speaker C: Okay? [00:49:44] Speaker A: I said you can't eat it, but I'm telling you what it can do to you. You know, if you like crawfish, high cholesterol, doesn't it give you high cholesterol? And there's a warning about eating crawfish, but it gives you high cholesterol, right? Bottom fetus and stuff like that, right? Like when you consume them, if you eat like shrimp, you know, if you look at it, they say the shrimp gives you some type of thing. If you eat sushi, you see some instance they tell you sushi gives you some type of. Because it raw and when you consume it, you know, it leaves. You know, some people have seen octopus tentacles in their throat. You know, there's some stuff going on, you know. So I'm just saying to you, I'm not telling you what you should and should not eat. You know, I'm telling you just be careful what you consume in your body, okay? And our government needs to put regulation in place step by step on how to protect its citizen. Because we heard Ms. Barbara Cartwright, Senator Barbara Cartwright talked about the fact about our kids. So if we're not going to give our kids sniping, we don't want them for red rod and urban renewal all day. If they ain't getting one $300 and plus one gift certificate where they could go to city market, I mean super value and get one little 150, 50 or $200 worth of groceries so they could get home and teach them about healthy living as well. And they might get good at Barmsey as well. They could get a certificate, go to Barmsey. Watermelon, pineapple and all the healthy fruits and vegetables are essential for kids to grow. And think positive, you know, we could do that. So you know, that's how I feel about it. So we talking about 700 million, we're talking $331 million borrowing. But yet still our hospitals, its entire [00:51:36] Speaker B: state, [00:51:38] Speaker A: we have Senator Barbara Cartwright saying that, you know, we have kids at risk in performing in school. Okay, play the next clip from a place this evening you should see work commence. And they will, they will Work through the night until around 4 in the morning. The Ministry of Works technical team is working along with the contractors to ensure that the airport does remain open during the time of the paving exercise. This would be a temporary reinstatement of the Runway. As we all know that North Luther Airport is in tune to get a brand new airport along with a new Runway and taxiway. So this in turn would just be a temporary but an overhaul of the Runway to ensure that all planes can land there safely and ensure that their aircrafts are not damaged. [00:52:39] Speaker B: So how long before this temporary work is completed? [00:52:41] Speaker A: We anticipate if. Depending of course, on weather and no unforeseen circumstances, 12 days. You know, that's Clay Sweden. Excuse me? I think it's Clay Sweden. Yeah, From Grant. That's Clay Sweden, right? Yes. I used the Minister of Public Works. I think he is also a good mp. When I talk about maintenance again, we have these airports, we have these MPs in charge of these communities. Right. I think each MP who has a constituency, whether it has an airport, has parks, has some type of concern that the community has raised. Probably a spot where, you know, there needs to be lighting and et cetera, or speed bumps or needs to be cleaned on or something needs to be built up better the community, so we can have more community activities. I think that the MPs, as a member of Parliament, I think that the MP should. I know it's a big task, but I think you're part of a government entity. I think that you have a lot of CEOs in there who you could put together as a team and say, you know what, I want you to get on 10 man team and I'd like you to go around in a specific area for one week and see the needs for, for that particular part of that community. Okay? And that could include the airport, you know. And then as they do a survey of the community in a period of six months, you'd get the complaints, you analyze it, you put it down, you write it down, you send your. Send your CEOs back again because they want something to do, you're paying them good, it's government money. And when they come back to you, you receive the information instead. Instead you go in Parliament talking about the opposition. You go in Parliament and you say you would like to make these recommendations to your prime minister, you know, because you are the government and you are sitting member of Parliament and you can make an argument to say, we need the airport fixed. It's been affecting the community for a long, long time. Mr. Prime Minister. And I need your assistance because these are major problems. I assess the entire budget on what I think I need to make these projects to be operational at a pacific time. I think like, you know, you could say anywhere. It depends on the airport, maybe 50, 60 million. So you have the dan to put some lights or whatever. It probably cost $120,000 to build a dock, you know, or for example, we talk about the bridge. That is an honors. If I'm correct, the MP of that community, he supports the ready hard individuals who a part of his team. And like I said, go around the community, talk to the residents and see what the problem is, assess it, write it down when you have time, when you have a meeting with the mp, you give him the assessments. And then when the MP goes to the House of Parliament, he says, have a le bridge that is an Android cost, but $800,000 to repair. Okay, explain these things when you have your time to speak and also Parliament goes on record and then you continue to debate and better your community. I don't think an MP who is elected should just find out after he's been elected four or five years that the bridge need maintenance, no manding. The bridge has to close down and cause the community, has to reroute cause difficulties for the community. When if you had maintenance, you had the team who are dedicated to working for four years to better the community, take the complaints to the community and then also refer the matter to the mp. And the MP himself would go in the House of Assembly and when he make his budget debate and like I said, instead of him fighting against the opposition, he could say, I'm here today to talk about the problems that are facing my community and we need this to be addressed. And we're going to see how when you do the budget and House of Assembly, if you could put a budget in mind to assist me in my community. And I think that all MPs who are elected, whether your opposition, if you want to see you should be doing this in your community. And I think this is the way how we want our elected officials or anyone who comes to represent us to be our leader. And that's what we want from our leaders today. We want the problem fixed. We want you to go to debate, find the problem out in the community, from the residents, go and debate. And then when the budget comes around, you can say, I need $60 million to do these projects that can benefit the community. That's how I think how we should be doing things. You know, maybe, yes, no, [00:58:20] Speaker C: okay. [00:58:22] Speaker A: We get one more clip, right? Okay. That's which one it is, huh? Okay, go ahead. [00:58:35] Speaker B: We want persons to see that we're in. We're capable of doing things. We want this to be the thing that opens up the way for equality. We want you to recognize us and see, listen, they're marching just like the youth march with Sunday going, you understand? Look at us and see that we're capable. We should not be in the back. We should be brought forward for people [00:58:57] Speaker A: to actually see persons who are blind and visually impaired as functioning human beings. We are very capable. That's what I want the nation to know about persons who are blind and dear. [00:59:11] Speaker B: And is it disheartening when persons don't. [00:59:14] Speaker A: Yes, it's very disheartening. It's kind of discouraging when people see someone who's blind, they automatically get the sense that something is wrong with their mind. The only difference between us and everyone else is the lack of sight. Yeah, that's some beautiful people. You know, they are disabled, but they are being left out as well, you know. And as part of talk show host, you know, my heart goes to any organization in the country that needs to be recognized, you know, because we don't want to leave nobody out. I'm not saying that, you know, governments only human beings department set up that human beings run, okay, coordinated sometimes, sometimes they don't work with one another and cause less progress. But at the same time, you know, they have a great responsibility to not leave nobody out. And I listen to the clip and my heart dropped to them because they are part of us as well and they feel that they're being left out. So when we're talking about 700 million and talking about infrastructure and we spend it here and there and then we borrowed 331 million. Let me just say this be the bman people. I mean us who are here who are not getting the contracts from the [01:00:45] Speaker C: government, [01:00:48] Speaker A: some of us might be getting the kickback from many different individuals who are contracts from the government who are also helping their family. This is not a shot at you guys, you know, not taking no bread or nobody more many of you would not see it the way how we see it because you know, you all on political incline and then you would always want to defend the party, that's fine. But you think when your mom go to the Princess Market Hospital, you think it's going to differential from PLP or AFLM where your government is in power. You think your government's going to be able to help people. Why Is you in the hospital that something could have been done if we had a national agenda. Meaning all of us understand this is not political. We just want the government, whoever the government is, to understand the fact that we need new hospitals and we need how we can reduce chronically ill diseases in our country. That is to voice there. Yes, we could build a new hospital, but we also need ways on how we could stop chronically ill diseases in the country, transmitted diseases in the country. That's education. That's meaning we have the banci full swing. Because I think we spend millions on it and I don't think we're really benefiting from it. And I think that as the weeks and years go by, I think that, you know, we should have livestocks of sheep, coke, watermelon's supposed to be a galore in this country. I think snappers and fish and stuff like that. If we had this barmseed the way we should hide it, I feel that a lot of stuff could have been cheap and affordable for bahamians so that they could afford to buy the healthy foods. You know, we had conchs in abundance. We could have snappers in abundance. I think that if we really utilize barmsy the way we supposed to utilize barmsy with the millions of dollars we spent, we could get experts from different Caribbean countries, from Haiti, Jamaica, who Norwood searle and come down, bring them down as a team where they could teach our kids, they could visionize bombs because it's acres and acres and acres of land sometimes. Listen, people, you might don't believe this. We have farmers over here too. I'm not saying that we don't have the qualified professions. They could work together. Sometimes it's good to bring in other foreigners in the country. Listen to me. The world was not built on one set of race of people, okay? That's why we have Chinese, we have black, we have Europeans, we have Indians, we have Russians, we have French. You know, we are Portuguese. Combined together we make the world spin because each and every one of these countries of people who have talented, whether it's teaching, whether it's making cars, whether it's making nuclear weapons, they have something to offer. And we were able to understand that as a nation and allow people to come in with the right intent with their profession. I think we could change this country, honestly speaking, because we can't do it alone right now. But like I said, we need three new hospitals. We're going to take this call. Greg caller, you're on it. [01:03:45] Speaker B: Yes. This farming thing that you were Just talking about. They always amaze me. Do you know every aspect of farming feeds off the next one when I say that? [01:03:58] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [01:03:59] Speaker B: When you have stuff that is spoiling. If you have hogs, sheep and goats and cows. Or they rip about maybe 100 acres of land and you could section them off and rotate where the sheep feed, where the goat feed. Because she never looked right to the ground. [01:04:16] Speaker A: Yes. [01:04:16] Speaker B: Goat leaves a stem and cow could eat from anything. But if they would just rotate and. And when you have a lot of wastage on the farm, what don't come to town, you can feed the hogs. [01:04:29] Speaker A: Yes, that's what they for, that's what [01:04:30] Speaker B: they could eat the grass and keep it down. [01:04:33] Speaker A: Yes. [01:04:34] Speaker B: You plant your bees, you plant your corn and you plant. And you plant things that you don't have to take care of. Like sweet potato, watermelon, all those kind of things. You can plant them and then the wire and run. [01:04:45] Speaker A: Yes. [01:04:46] Speaker B: I don't know why it's so difficult for them to get a farming thing up and running. Listen, back in the days I had an uncle or a grand uncle on Rumpke and he raised cows. They used to have fresh meat. Every month he kill a cow. If you go to Rumpke now you can find wild cows. So why is it so difficult for them to raise sheep and goats? And you can control the sheep and goat. I don't understand them with this farming project. Because one thing will feed off the next. You will not know. Wastage. [01:05:21] Speaker C: Yes. [01:05:21] Speaker B: And the fertilizer from the animals, you can put that on the plant. You don't even have to buy fertilizer. These fellows are bringing all these kind of tolerance. These fellows who study soil. You don't need them all people back in the day live to be a hundred and so without all these fellows who know about soil. My point exactly, why we can't do. With all the common sense we supposed to have, why we can't do that? You go to Andres and you do maybe in Meguana, in case the hurricane hit. You got still another place where the hurricane didn't hit. [01:05:54] Speaker A: That's right. [01:05:54] Speaker B: Could still be sending supplies to the. To the mainland. [01:05:57] Speaker A: Sweet pepper, carrots, you know, all that stuff. Pigeon peas. Pigeon peas, healthy for the human body. Okra, one of the most healthiest things [01:06:08] Speaker C: for the human body. [01:06:09] Speaker A: Banana was in abundance. And you know, you understand Banana smoothies. Man, I tell you, all we have. All we have. We have it, man. [01:06:17] Speaker B: I had them talk with all this money they spending on. But I wonder what. What they spending on. [01:06:22] Speaker A: And it ain't an arms. It ain't in the schools. You know where the kids. The palm tree. The palm tree in schools. [01:06:30] Speaker B: Supposed to be importing. [01:06:32] Speaker A: No, no. Onions in abundance. We could have that in abundance. [01:06:36] Speaker B: They didn't buy. They bought those things. They grew them. [01:06:39] Speaker A: Sweet pepper. We're not supposed to be important. [01:06:41] Speaker B: They going in the field in the morning, and when they come back, they come in a stock on their back. [01:06:46] Speaker A: Yep. We could do it. [01:06:48] Speaker B: Cassava, sweet potato, all these kind of things. And they got all the technology in the world, and they can only raise one sheep, one goat, one hog. [01:06:56] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:06:56] Speaker B: And at home is something you. I mean, they breathe fast and you guess what's up. [01:07:01] Speaker A: Guess what's the best food. Boiled food is the best world food is the best food that we got. Anyone who's sick. Anyone who's sick eat boiled food. Bread, fruit, all this stuff. Cassava and all this stuff and stuff like that, you know, sweet potatoes and stuff that. All this stuff. Good for you. [01:07:16] Speaker B: Why bamsi can't take off. It's something seriously wrong with the people who control the money. [01:07:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:07:23] Speaker B: Cause a lot of the animals could take care of themselves. [01:07:25] Speaker A: Yes. [01:07:25] Speaker B: And they'll breathe and keep. If you leave them alone, they'll breathe and breathe and breathe and breathe and take over. [01:07:31] Speaker A: And they have natural. [01:07:32] Speaker B: It's done everywhere else. People in Israel. [01:07:34] Speaker A: Yes. [01:07:34] Speaker B: They don't even have all this technology. You got to see all the sheep they got. [01:07:37] Speaker A: Yes, I see it on tv. [01:07:39] Speaker B: They got more sheep than you can take a sick eye. [01:07:42] Speaker A: And they have a big. [01:07:42] Speaker B: These people, they out in the hill doing this with no help. They're not serious about feeding us. [01:07:51] Speaker A: I mean, what, billions of dollars. [01:07:54] Speaker B: Those millions of dollars every year they invested in this. And all you got to do is rotate and let the farm to the hogs that eat whatever. You throw it away. The goats are keeping the sheep will keep the grass down. The cow eat up high. And you just rotate them. [01:08:10] Speaker A: Yep. [01:08:10] Speaker B: And you got an area where you're growing your day. And I could do that with nothing. All I need you to do is rip the soil for me, man. [01:08:18] Speaker A: You could even have a turkey farm. [01:08:20] Speaker B: And all I wouldn't do, I would drink your chicken. [01:08:22] Speaker A: You understand? We can help those. We can have these. Chance, man. Listen. These teams are simple. [01:08:26] Speaker B: Once you get one set of layer chicken, you don't need no more. [01:08:29] Speaker A: You understand? [01:08:31] Speaker B: They multiply like crazy. [01:08:32] Speaker A: Yep. [01:08:34] Speaker B: So I don't understand what they've been doing. All this money, they talking about their investment. All These animals are capable of multiplying [01:08:42] Speaker A: on their own and everything would be organic. That means if you're a person who's sick and get diabetes, who have hypertension, who obese, you now have healthy food and you. And it's cheap. That means now you have choices. [01:08:52] Speaker B: Now this country makes all kind of money. Oh God, I got enough. I grow my news. I can take you. This is Monty, by the way again. [01:09:01] Speaker A: Yes, I gotta. [01:09:02] Speaker B: I know I can bring you to my yard one day and let you see what I grow it my spare time. [01:09:08] Speaker A: And guess what? Mangoes are some of the most healthy set of fruits. Mangoes. Listen, mangoes are some of the most healthiest fruit. Listen me, we didn't have a mango farm over here that could produce juice, man. There's so much things we can do in this country, man. [01:09:20] Speaker B: I see the other day in Haiti they making the charcoal of the coconut box. They sign it up. [01:09:31] Speaker A: I see it, I see it. [01:09:32] Speaker B: Stabilize it. [01:09:33] Speaker A: Yes. [01:09:34] Speaker B: And then they press it. [01:09:35] Speaker A: Yes. [01:09:36] Speaker B: And you got cold. [01:09:37] Speaker A: Yes. There's so much things we can do. There's so much things. [01:09:40] Speaker B: Boys on the side of the road now thrown away all the coconut bar. Nobody need to go get that training, [01:09:46] Speaker A: see what training they could do. Now just like how you suggested just now, right? You mentioned it just now. Think about this. Just imagine now if you put the guys into training and they see that, right? And you bring a professional who know about that, right? And you give them a sniping and now they pick their trade up and guess what? We'd have a clean Obama's not. Cause they could go around and get these coconut bark and chill and now it's a profit to it. [01:10:06] Speaker B: Yes. Just making charcoal out of coconut shell. [01:10:10] Speaker A: Now most importantly, I see a lot of abandoned cars around the road, right? In Cuba they don't have no abandoned cars. You know why? Because those abandoned cars that are around our country and we're saying, right, we have the ministry of environment and we keep spending millions and millions of moving cars and then next week the cars go right back again. So we ain't making no sense. But do you know, do you know there's a business for transmission, there's a business for startup. So if you script the car fenders and all that stuff, it's a big, big money business. Yes, sir. [01:10:41] Speaker B: You, you ever go down there, Arawaki, and go on the back part and see all our basic steel? Yeah, we got. That's an industry right there. Cutting up that steel and shipping that out instead of that in the back part of R1 team of the Nazi. I don't know what. What our people be thinking. We put these people in the house. You could cut that up, have somebody cut that up, ship that out, give them a license to ship it. And they got more steel in the back there to keep them busy for two or three years. [01:11:09] Speaker A: We just. We just got a brainstorm and we have everything we need. It's just that the powers to be [01:11:13] Speaker B: don't recognize it, always want to reuse. Everything is being recycled nowadays. [01:11:19] Speaker A: Everything can be recycled. All his old cars in this country, [01:11:22] Speaker B: good old steel out there, man, all [01:11:24] Speaker A: those windshields, all those could be money for the Ministry of Environment. [01:11:28] Speaker B: I mean, that's the. That's the iron. A real old iron from them days. Things were sitting out there 50 years a day. And they let us sit right there. Our government let us sit right there. [01:11:37] Speaker A: All them engines in those cars you see on the side of the road, they're still usable. There's parts and stuff like that. [01:11:41] Speaker B: So you got to see those big cranes and the boats they got out. They're all out of scrap metal. [01:11:46] Speaker A: Yes, yes. But anyway, thank you, sir. [01:11:50] Speaker B: I look around and I look at these and I think, what our government, what are they doing? [01:11:54] Speaker A: Nobody ain't thinking. It takes citizens to come up with great suggestions [01:12:02] Speaker B: in industry of its own. [01:12:04] Speaker A: Yes. All those cars, I tell you, engines, transmission, they could be script. Can be script. And make the bombers clean again. [01:12:12] Speaker B: And they be in the bush so you can't see them no more. The bush. [01:12:15] Speaker A: Yes, sir. I get the next call. I want to let them get opportunity, but thank you, Monty. And I like how you represent the BME people, especially you as a business owner who contribute greatly to national insurance. And also you pay to your employees. And it's good that you express yourself here. And I are talking about the conditions, about the roadworks that are happening around your establishment and many other establishment. And I hope that you get confidence from the government because I think it's the right thing to do. So thank you for calling. Calling in, sir. [01:12:45] Speaker B: I'm going to look for you tomorrow. [01:12:46] Speaker A: Okay, sir, I'm gonna take this call. Next call. Thank you very much, Monty. And remember, it's a beauty supply. Monty's beauty supply. So be more than happy to go there and check it out. I think they get some good cheap prices. [01:12:58] Speaker C: Okay. [01:12:59] Speaker A: So if you probably mentioned me, you might get a little discount. Only joking. Are we gonna take this next call? [01:13:06] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, good. [01:13:08] Speaker B: Good night. [01:13:08] Speaker C: Good night. [01:13:08] Speaker A: 52. [01:13:09] Speaker C: Yeah. What's going on, man? You Know, but you painted a serious picture. You know, our bedroom spark, he gone. [01:13:13] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:13:14] Speaker C: You know, the day is Sparky tomorrow. As me, it could be anybody. But you know, like I said, most people didn't understand what I was saying when I was saying hospital, cemetery or jail. You understand what I mean by that? [01:13:25] Speaker A: Suffering, pure suffering, you could duck you [01:13:28] Speaker C: were saying something never happened to this person and that person. But it's one thing we can't duck as a cemetery. [01:13:32] Speaker A: Yes. [01:13:32] Speaker C: So you could brag, you'd never be in the hospital, you never be in the jail, but you can't duck the cemetery. And so when we listen to Spocky's story, the first thing should come to mind is the. What is the significance of the triage that you give certain patients preference over the others according to what conditions they have? Right. Right or wrong, right? [01:13:54] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [01:13:54] Speaker C: Yeah. So Sparky should have never waited that long, given the fact that he's well known. I mean, he's elderly, but somebody should have been able to step in. So remember now, this is not a joke because LH was a close friend of the family. LH end up in pmh, right? So we have to humanize these stories. And I sit and I listen to the whole show. You know, you talked about health and money, talked about the farming, etc. We've all taken off our farming clothes and put on coat suits to go downtown and play a clown. You understand me? But I got some bananas from morning the other day. You know, they home going, right? Yeah, because I was by the shop, very sweet. I have some sugar bananas, I go, they come out now and then. And you know, when they decided to make these properties 50 by 100 in inner city, they make sure you couldn't do no farming. Farming, right? And you just farm what you could. But I'll say this right, the geniuses that have allowed the situation to blossom for decades, given the fact that I heard the year 1999, right? My oldest daughter was born in 1999, June 23rd. My son, the last one, was born during the pandemic. When my wife went to the hospital, the water bag already burst. Oh, God bless her. Man curse. Thank God it wasn't worse. She was told that because my oldest daughter carried her, I dropped her. And she must say, you had to go pick up. But she had to go do a PCR test before they even accepted the hospital, which we find out now is total bs, right? The hospital should have been able to facilitate that right there and then. You understand me, Scoji? Yes, Sir, I say she in labor. You hear what they're telling you? And they telling the girl the PCR deal. So you. All this talk about health and these people. You know what sickens me? If you was to know what I know, right, Scorsi, you would really know that these people don't care about you. You keep. People keep thinking that people care about you. You know, you can tell because the information, they're not dispensing. And so even as I look, I stopped eating the breads because of the additives that they have in them, the phosphates and all these different things. The hard days and the kidneys. I changed my diet for my retail 60, right? [01:16:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:16:01] Speaker C: So even if I go to McDonald's and get some for my children, I don't even eat, but I'm giving them. But I go to McDonald's once in a while for them. It's not even like I get them used to it. [01:16:08] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I understand, man. [01:16:09] Speaker C: On the way home, I miss and eat one of the French fry, right, Squeezy? [01:16:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:16:12] Speaker C: And the amount of salt in that, I, I was unbelievable. Almost my salt is in the Dead Sea. But, but what I'm saying is you can't. You see, you have to look at what's going on. [01:16:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:16:21] Speaker C: You talk about all the additives and deodorants and the chemicals. You can imagine what you and I don't know. You think I know, know it all. You know, I'm always learning. Squeezy. [01:16:29] Speaker A: Yes. [01:16:29] Speaker C: You realize, you know, that the additives in these foods are really what's killing us. [01:16:33] Speaker A: Yes, yes, yes. [01:16:34] Speaker C: And they having to see. Just remember to pay attention to what they. What they have coming in here. Dr. Darwin, you're not even looking at the water, the environment. [01:16:40] Speaker A: That's why I say. And he's a doctor. And he is a doctor, and he know these things by diagnosing individuals. That's why I don't understand this. [01:16:47] Speaker C: Listen to me, my brother. [01:16:48] Speaker A: Go ahead, sir. [01:16:49] Speaker C: Your brethren have a prescription healing book, nutritional subscription book. I've been looking at it for 30 something years and I still don't know. But I share as a Jew. See, what happens is, you know, we talk about the bile production, certain foods, like the mint tea and certain foods increase bile production which reduces cholesterol. You have the beta glucans, the beta glycan glucans, that is in oats, that actually clings to the cholesterol, binds to the cholesterol in the blood, that reduces cholesterol. [01:17:20] Speaker B: All right? [01:17:20] Speaker C: And so it forms a gel like in the digestive tract and it dissolves in the water, form as a thick gel like substance. Right. So all of these things. So when you hear people say, oh, certain foods reduce cholesterol, it is actually true, you know, but remember now, the body needs cholesterol to produce certain things. [01:17:35] Speaker A: Yes. [01:17:35] Speaker C: You know, it's cell production. Don't mind people. It's all a balance. [01:17:39] Speaker A: Yeah, balance. Not all a balance. [01:17:40] Speaker C: It also needs the dehydrocholesterol 7, I think underneath the skin helps produce the vitamin D3, etc. [01:17:48] Speaker A: Etc. [01:17:48] Speaker C: So everything is in a balance. But mostly you have to understand that with the dog food that I see the people eating. Right, you listening? [01:17:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:17:57] Speaker C: I don't care if they get mad, [01:17:58] Speaker A: but a dog to eat some of the food, but you turn on some of the food, dog refusing it, the bread. [01:18:02] Speaker C: Oh, I see, my dog. [01:18:03] Speaker A: Yeah, the dog, the dog refusing certain food. [01:18:05] Speaker B: Honest. [01:18:06] Speaker C: I lie. I lie. [01:18:06] Speaker A: 52. Yeah, we, we just was looking at this. We throw down some of the breakfast and some people cook a dog to [01:18:12] Speaker B: look at the food. [01:18:12] Speaker A: I used to say turkey hadn't gone the other way. [01:18:17] Speaker C: You see, what happened is when I call it dog, for people who really understand what's going on, you know, the doggy is stupid. The corn beef is beyond the table. One of my bridging them, he worked at the wholesale place. I, I feed them to the dog, the fella coming asking for them. But I don't think people really know what corn beef is. They'll get mad when they say this, but I don't think they imagine how the food look after they've masticated nine [01:18:35] Speaker A: o' clock beef no more. [01:18:37] Speaker C: The soda along with the soda like exclusively down in there is in the food store. I used to drink the pineapple, the bluebird. But when I don't see the dole, because you know, dole is what I go up in the 60s and 70s. So I decided, you know, sometimes I just look at the can and I saw 45 grams of sugar in the bluebird, in the pineapple juice. And I said, Jesus Christ, but can you imagine? I said pineapple sweet, 45 grams of sugar. Look, but that's. Well, the ounce is 28.3 grams, so it's obviously more than an ounce and a half. And I imagine how it looked and that's a lot of sugar. And so what happens is the sugar really is what does the damage. Because the rate at which your body accepts it once it's not a whole food, your body accepts the Sugar too fast, which does dilute the nerve damage [01:19:19] Speaker A: and clog up the arteries, etc. And clog up the arteries. [01:19:22] Speaker C: Just the glycemic index in general. And so people are drinking soda with sausage and rice and sausage and grits in the morning and they're doing all these different things. Smoking cigarettes, they're drinking rum until they succumb. Time come. Right? So, I mean, we're fighting a losing battle, but it's just like they were talking about just the amount of people walking around. Crazy, right? Right, Suzy? [01:19:43] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [01:19:43] Speaker C: But you and I live in the inner city where they don't talk about alcohol induced psychosis, where we allow all the liquor stores to proliferate, but then we're talking about people going out of their minds. But even so, as we allow the country to fill up with people. And this should frighten you because NASA is only selling by 21, but then you. The government's supposed to be prudent and clairvoyant enough to see the social fallout. So all of this crying wolf about the health care system. We had an immigration guy crying out wolf about the demon. People listen, that it's ridiculous, the impetigo, all the different things. Nassau is becoming like a big cage for somebody like me. I'm sorry. At this stage. And nothing is being done about it. And then the people will start determining themselves because like I keep telling you about this experiment in which rodents were placed in compartments and they were allowed to proliferate and they became so angry because when they induced the ration, the rodents stopped having sex and having babies and they started to fight. [01:20:35] Speaker A: You're talking about the pig, right? [01:20:36] Speaker C: They had the pig in. It's no different with Nassau. Any experiment done with rodents is designed to see the effects of humans, whether it's psychological or clinical. [01:20:43] Speaker A: Yes. [01:20:43] Speaker C: I don't need to be a genius to figure that out. This is something I've known over the years. [01:20:46] Speaker A: Thank you. [01:20:47] Speaker C: So we could sit and talk all we want, but these things are predicted. They know this. They're doing nothing to restrict it or to impede it. Nassau is being filled up and nothing is being done about it. Some people is on the radio talking about shantytown in big porn. I live in the Grove. I mean, I have an idea that it's in the back there because I see a lot of drug abusers hanging out in the bag there by the porn. It didn't even make no sense. Even going by the boardwalk that they make. Some of the wood are missing. Garbage there, garbage everywhere. Drug users all over the place, defecating here and there. So what I'm saying is, Kuji, nobody pays attention to nothing. And they're looking at the pathogenic fallout of. Of unsanitary practices. Yes. Until something happens which you didn't cause. Impediment. [01:21:31] Speaker A: You want to do a Sparky speaker now? We have a lot of attention on [01:21:33] Speaker C: it, but, yeah, we had a Texas. Somebody said here, 52 died. Somebody lied. [01:21:39] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [01:21:39] Speaker C: Yeah, man. Yeah, but they. She's trying to put a case on me, but the king ain't ready. Whenever the king ready, he walks steady. [01:21:45] Speaker A: Give thanks, bless, bless up. Yeah, that's 52. And he is an advocate speaking out for the country. And he told you, you got to be careful what you consume in your body. All the sodas and stuff like that. You have clogged arteries, you know, that causes your system to shut down, give you a heart attack, your blood clot, all of this stuff. So drink a lot of ginger. Drink some cinnamon tea. Ginger tea. You could drink some onion tea. If you get some soursop leaf, you get some moringa, which is abundance in the country. Y' all should use moringa. People around the country use the moringa tree. It's a random abundance of seed. Pods are very good for you. Moringa is one of the superfoods in the world. Sells in places like India. They assemble it in vast quantity. Okay, so a lot of trees we have around the yard, there's neem tree as well. You get blood clot, get bad blood. Use some neem. You could use the name the Sorosi. If it's a little bit up. Get some organic honey and put some lime in it. You know, these things can help heal you. Okay, we're gonna take this last call. I only have five more minutes. Go, caller. I could give you three minutes if you could get it out real quick. What you have to say. Go ahead, caller. [01:23:10] Speaker B: Hey, old school. [01:23:11] Speaker A: Drink everything. [01:23:12] Speaker B: Good. You're doing good, man. Mom, we got Bombsy over here, right? [01:23:15] Speaker A: Huh? [01:23:17] Speaker B: Let's throw a vibe at this vibe. [01:23:19] Speaker A: Go ahead, quick. [01:23:20] Speaker C: Right now they got all the fruits and vegetables over here. [01:23:24] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [01:23:25] Speaker B: Right. [01:23:26] Speaker C: And if any. [01:23:26] Speaker B: If any food store, anybody bring in something else, tax them more. [01:23:33] Speaker C: And that way our teams get sell from Bombsy. [01:23:36] Speaker B: Oh, current San. [01:23:41] Speaker C: You know what I mean, right? [01:23:42] Speaker A: Yes, sir. Yes, sir. [01:23:44] Speaker B: Let's try sell our thing first. And whoever come in, you tax them a little bit more. [01:23:51] Speaker A: Makes sense. Makes sense. We'd be cheaper. Yes, we be cheap with our stuff that give us first preference. And then Charge them who come and export. Yes, it makes sense. Yeah, brother, that's right. Enough, thanks. Enough, thanks. Enough, thanks. See a lot of people concerning about these things. We need those healthy foods, we need those onions. Listen, I tell you people listen to me good. The moringa tree that we see around the yard that has the most vitamin, okay? The breadfruit tree is good for people who have diabetes and stuff like that. They eat boiled food, okay? The dilly that you see on the tree, if you have cancer oriented symptoms, you could use the soursop leaves, okay? But most of these things you need raw honey, okay? Or you know, use raw honey and then they have a McGave you could use as well because you know, most people don't like the bitters and those things alone are really helpful to the human body, okay? You have the blue boy vine, okay? For ladies who haven't their period, you could use the Blue World wine arbori lat. And you drink that, that can ease up with your period. It also ease the pain, you know what I mean? So there's a lot of herbal things that you could grow in your yard that you could use for tea that could help with some of your illness in the country, okay? Just reminded, you know, the book of Genesis, one of the first statements it made, the healing of the nations are in the greens, okay? The greens mean the trees. And also like to tell you if your blood disorder, there's the neem tree. Some people have neem tree, rod, you can get a name, you can get a sorosi. And then there's a guinea hen bush. Those three combined together. If you have blood disorder, Listen people, all right, you could boil those three together, okay? Except with a little bit of honey, a little bit of lime. You drink that, just get up with your blood disorder. And for men who are on heart problems or heart, the chest tighten up or you have issues with your blood, blood circulation. Cayenne pepper, okay? Get some cayenne pepper and make some cayenne pepper tea, okay? It tilts the blood and it cleans the arteries, okay? So that you have blood clots, okay? So this is what I do because I'm concerned about my people here in this country, okay? My job as an activist and a person who have a big heart for the problems that we face in the country. And I like to identify it. I guess this is my calling, you understand? Taking on other people's problem. It's my problem because I want the Bahamas to be a place that we all reside in, that we have a good health Care that we have a good education system, that we have a balanced police force, that we have a balanced defense force. In other words, what I mean is this, you can be a defense officer or police officer and if you're doing your job, Dylan Chi, you will be paid and get all the benefits that government official should get with increased payment based on your integrity and your honesty and how you treat us and your report comes and you get your promotion like that non political, you know, and that's what we want in the country. Yeah, like I say, non political. So, You know, we had a nice talk today, so I hope I was able to have a good conversation with each and every one of you. I'd like to call us who call in today. You guys contributed greatly tonight on the show. And like I say, one day it would be you up to Princess Margaret Hospital just like Sparky, but my grandmother being up there, thousands of Bahamian mothers and grandfathers, babies, pregnant people who complain about the hospital, right, have died because of negligence, but not necessary. It's the fault of the nurses or doctors. It's the fact, like I tell you, the hospital like Dr. Darwell say from 1999 and that sometimes the oxygen emergency cannot deal with the volume of poisons coming in the hospital looking for medical care. At the Princess Market Hospital, you can imagine shooting victims come in, car accident victim come in, pregnant people come in. People who have chronic related diseases who need oxygen tank and all that stuff, need ambulance assistance. How in the world could the staff deal with that in one night surgery? You know, it's just too much. We need foreign nurses and doctors in the country. We need our government, have whoever the government coming in or is the government now we're looking for them to have a solution and we need them to know that we need new hospitals and we need strategic education. We need barmsy so that we could teach our kids to get ahead of the chronically ill diseases, so that we won't have to need all those hospital beds, so that we don't have to need beds, we don't have to need extra equipments. What I mean, what I'm, what I'm trying to say is that if we get ahead of the problem where we deal with diabetes, obesity, chronic diseases, that what gives you the chronic ill diseases. And we try to teach our kids at an early age, from primary school, junior high school and senior high school, we would get ahead of the problem because now we teach them about healthy living and we're providing with barmc. So I think we have to get ahead of the problem. But in the meantime we still need the hospital. So we need two things at the same time. We need healthy tips, healthy living lifestyle to be repeated to our kids and our citizens in the country. Because we are highest in these particular categories. Obesity, cancer, chronic diseases. We read a talk and we only 400 Bahamians living in this country. Okay, so time is completely gone Again. Thank you all for listening. I'm your host, Valentino Brown, AKA Scooter Scrooge, host of the talk show Inside Inner City Double mass every Friday at 6:38pm except all of this. And I always talk about our problems, talk about solutions. But I'm always always here to always represent you guys so that we can have a better bombers and one better medical care. I want high, I mean low unemployment. I want the crime rate the deceased in the country. [01:30:37] Speaker C: Okay? [01:30:39] Speaker A: And just hope to see you next week. God spelled life and remember I'm not perfect. I make mistakes just like anyone else. But anything I find fault of myself and I judge myself. And every day I go go to my bed and wake up in the morning. I pray to God that he keep on guiding protect me and to make me in a better person and to find my fault. Do the same for yourself and the blessing of God would be on you and he would guide and protect you for the rest of your days on this earth. Good night everyone. Enjoy your weekend. [01:31:11] Speaker B: So many hungry days break till it grieves me way I doing the best [01:31:16] Speaker A: I can trying to turn my dollar [01:31:18] Speaker B: to a hundred grand I represent the [01:31:23] Speaker A: people I from NASA Bahamas big up.
